Ancestry (Ancestry.com & Ancestry.co.uk) has launched the first ever complete 1841 England and Wales Census online. In addition to the 1841 Census,
Ancestry is the only online resource working with The National Archives that offers seven complete Censuses dating from 1841 to 1901. The English government took its first national census in 1801, however, the first genealogically useful census was not taken until 1841, when names were recorded.
The 1841 Census for England was taken on the night of 6 June 1841. These were previously only available by trawling through records offices. Ancestry gives you access to your family's history in the comfort of your own home.
