Revolutionary War Pensioners Index Added

Genealogy Today has partnered with Footnote.com to make an index of the 80,000 pension and bounty-land warrant application files available on our web site.

These records reveal details about each veteran's history and service, as well as his family, state of health, and life after the war. Most of the records in the files are dated between 1800 and 1900. While the index is full of useful information, the real treasure is accessing images of the original documents, which are available online only at Footnote.com (for purchase or via subscription).

In 2007, Footnote.com released this collection of Revolutionary War documents available for the first time on the Internet. Now visitors to GenealogyToday.com may search an index of the pensioners for free. The index will link visitors to the original images available exclusively at the Footnote.com web site.

To access this index, visit the Index of Revolutionary War Pensioners page.
