OliveTreeGenealogy.com is a free genealogy website, providing American and Canada databases of all kinds, but specializing in Ships Passenger Lists. Olive Tree Genealogy was established by Lorine McGinnis Schulze in November 1995 and first went live at http://bconnex.net/~lschulze/.

In February 1996, the site was invited to join Rootsweb.com as their first hosted project site, and went live at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/ on April 28, 1996.

In June 2000, Olive Tree Genealogy obtained its own domain, although the /~ote/ site remained as the basic core site. Both sites continue to add new collections of genealogy data.
